Breakthrough Behavior Welcomes Danae Medrano as New Clinical Director of California

Danae will oversee the daily clinic operations in Monterey, Salinas & Soledad

Breakthrough Behavior has welcomed Danae Medrano, M.A. BCBA, as Clinical Director of the organization’s three clinics in California. As Clinical Director, Danae will oversee the daily clinical operations of the facilities in Monterey, Salinas and Soledad, and ensure effective and efficient treatment is provided to Breakthrough Behavior patients. She will also maximize clinic capacity to ensure minimum wait list times for potential new patients, as well as oversee all clinical plans, implementation of applied behavior analysis (ABA) programs and staff training.

“Danae is an extraordinary leader who will elevate Breakthrough Behavior's clinical programs within our California locations,” said Breakthrough Behavior Chief Executive Officer Maegen Pierce. “We couldn't be more excited to welcome Danae to our team.”

Danae has been working in the field of ABA since 2006. She began as a behavior technician in the South Bay Area of California shortly after receiving her bachelor’s degree in psychology from San José State University. Danae quickly realized the positive impact ABA made on so many lives and discovered that this field and helping others was her passion. Danae completed her coursework and fieldwork supervision to become a board certified assistant behavior analyst (BCaBA), and has worked with children with developmental delays and autism from the ages of 18 months through young adulthood, in the home, clinic and school settings. She completed her master’s degree in special education with an emphasis in ABA through Arizona State University and became a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA).

“I am excited for this new role as I will get to work with an amazing team here in California and across Breakthrough Behavior's regions,” said Danae. “My goal is to be supportive and motivating for the California team so we can provide our clients with excellent ABA services.”

Most recently, Danae worked in the field as a clinical supervisor for ABA programs in the Santa Cruz, Monterey, Santa Clara and San Benito counties in California. She lives in her hometown of San Juan Bautista with her husband Tommy, son Ryan, daughter Haylie and their shih tzu Patches. In her free time, Danae enjoys reading, cooking and watching sports with her family.
