Breakthrough Behavior Welcomes Christie Penland as New Senior Vice President of Operations

Christie is a BCBA with more than 20 years experience in the ABA field

Breakthrough Behavior has welcomed Christie Penland, M.Ed., Ed.S, BCBA as the organization’s new Senior Vice President of Operations. In her new role, Christie will direct and oversee the financial and operational performance of all lines of business.


“I am so excited to lead Breakthrough Behavior into new markets and serve more families,” said Christie. “We will continue to fulfill our mission and create more access to the high-quality services.”


Christie has more 20 years of experience in the applied behavior analysis (ABA) field including both clinical and operations. She began her career as a direct therapist and, after obtaining her master’s degree from the University of South Carolina, went on to complete her coursework through the Florida Institute of Technology to become a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA). For more than a decade, she practiced as a BCBA with a focus on providing high quality ABA programs to children on the autism spectrum as well as supporting and mentoring clinicians into leadership positions.

During her experience in overseeing operations for multiple markets across several states, Christie developed, monitored and executed key performance indicators to ensure successful financial outcome while maintaining a high standard of care. Christie is married and has two daughters ages six and ten, as well as a large fur baby who keep her quite busy.
